Terry & Kathy WALLER - Water for All (Update 06/14/2007)

Water for All is a holistic Christian development program sharing Jesus in Word and deed in Bolivia and Ethiopia, teaching the poor to drill their own deep water wells.  The Wallers are sponsored by Southland Baptist Church of San Angelo, TX, Hendricks Ave. Baptist Church of Jacksonville Florida, University Baptist Church of Arlington TX, Trinity Baptist of San Antonio, World Concern Bolivia, Baptists in Bolivia, and other caring churches and individuals.

UPDATE:

Dear Friends

I just received an email I thought I should share with you.  I get inquiries all over asking for help with water (why WFA is starting a a volunteer intern program and going international so we may be a position to send young people out to respond to requests like this).  I don’t know this person, but the story he relates is so sad it reminds me of why we are doing this stuff.  I thought I would share this with you.  The water need is so great and the casualties are individuals like you and me, just in different circumstances.  Remember every six seconds someone dies of water related problems around the world.  Pray for Joe and I as we head back to Ethiopia and Uganda in July.  Also Cathy Fitzgeradl just reported she drilled a test well in the Turkana area of Kenya with our technique.  Anyway pray for us that we can do good work and God show us how expand and meet need like this.  Pray for all that are working to help people get water.

Hello terry,
one day, one woman waited for the truck that normally sells water in her arear but it didnot show up that day.she had the food but couldnot cook it due to luck of water. Her two kids aged two and five had nothing to drink that day. she decided to leave very early in the morning to fetch for water hoping by evening she would be back to atleast make food for her kids.she walked the 25 km, to where there was tap water but the taps were dry. Eventually water started flowing through the taps but the que was so long and it was evening whe she filled up her 20 ltr jerrycan. she tried to walk home but it was too dark and she slept at the next village. At the break of down she hurried to her children arriving at around 11.00hrs to find both her kids dead. This is just one of an everyday tale that iam so saddened to hear. this woman passed by my farm which is around 5kms to where she got waterand had i a water in my farm she probably would have asked me. Please advise me who i can get in touch with in kenya about drilling a well.my farm is in kaloleni, just 40km from mombasa city. I hope to hear soon from you.
nazeer.
